No ‘Spam King’ clothing line for Richter.
Infamous spammer Scott Richter, aka the ‘Spam King’, has fallen at the first hurdle in his bid to
launch a ‘Spam King’-branded clothing line
.
According to
Newsday.com
, Richter has revealed that, shortly after he began to market his Spam King range of clothes – which was to include hats, T-shirts and underwear sporting slogans such as ‘Just opt out’ and ‘Click it’ – he received a cease-and-desist communication from
Hormel Foods
, warning that Hormel owns the rights to the Spam mark.
So, for now, the fashion world will have to wait for the much anticipated SK clothing range – Mr Richter will have to find the time to settle this trademark matter in between both
suing anti-spam organisation SpamCop
and being sued by the New York Attorney General.
