Sales of security products remain very strong despite economic conditions, according to market research organisation
NPD
, whose sales figures for September show nine of the top 20 selling products were security-related. The rest of the chart is made up of games and office software.
The top three sellers were evolution game
Spore
, the home-user edition of
Microsoft
‘s
Office 2007
, and MMORPG
Warhammer Online
. The next three places were taken by security offerings from
Trend Micro
,
Webroot
and
Symantec
, with another six slots further down the list also security products, including two more
Norton
variants, another one each from
Trend
and
Webroot
, as well as
McAfee
‘s
VirusScan
and
Microsoft
‘s
OneCare
.
