Report: VB100 comparative review on Windows Server 2012

23 out of 29 tested products earn VB100 award.

Windows Server 2012

is the server version of

Windows 8

, the most recent version of

Microsoft

‘s operating system. Though supposedly more secure than previous

Windows Server

versions, solely relying on the security of an operating system is rarely, if ever, a good idea.

Thankfully, there are dozens of anti-malware solutions available for the operating system, and John Hawes and his team tested no fewer than 29 of them in the latest round of VB100 certification tests. 23 products achieved a VB100 award, demonstrating that they were capable of detecting all malware in the WildList, without erreonously detecting files from a ‘clean set’ of legitimate files.

As of this summer, all content published through Virus Bulletin is available free of charge, and the test reviews are no exception. We encourage readers to take advantage of this and look beyond the passes and the fails by reading the full reports before making a decision on purchasing new security solutions.
